WITH an estimated total of 2 billion viewers, the royal wedding has been the talk of the press worldwide, and there has been lots of press attention surrounding the fashion that made an appearance on the big day.

According to the Daily Mail, the guests attending the Royal wedding had been given specific instructions to comply with on the day. The dress code was as follows: Ladies should not wear cream or white and men in the armed forces have been told to wear uniform. Male civilians should choose a lounge or morning suit for the April 29th ceremony. And Guests were told “Wearing the right hat and not overdoing it is important,” said a Buckingham Palace source. Many of the guests have been either criticised or admired by the press for their choices.

However, the most anticipated outfit of the day was the bride to be, Catherine Middleton's, whose dress was talked about for months prior to the big day.

Her ivory gown completed with long lace sleeves and a profound neckline did not disappoint. Her hair kept how we all love and recognise her, trailed by her long veil and an appropriate tiara concluded the outfit perfectly. As the crowds gathered to see their future princess, Kate's bridal dress, designed by Sarah Burton shocked all. This was due to her traditional, conservative approach, which clearly showed off her great elegance and sophistication, without actually showing off.

However, apart from Kate's dress, the most talked about outfit was worn by her younger sister, Pippa Middleton, who really stole the show as maid of honour. The bridesmaid's dress, also designed by Sarah Burton, is said to have been by newspaper Metro, ''the most wanted dress by brides to be'', due to its "bum flattering" posture.

The mother of the bride, Carole Middleton's outfit, was another fashion hit at the wedding. She opted for a light blue dress and coat by Catherine Walker, which really showed of her skinny figure and elegant posture, completed with a matching hat.

Another hit, was Spain's royalty, Princess Letezia, who turned up in a subtle peach coloured dress and hat, bringing us the fashion from Spain.
Although there is a lot of praise surrounding the fashion hits of the royal wedding, there has also been a lot of criticism concerning the fashion misses.

With headwear being a big fashion topic of the day, sisters and princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have both caused much controversy in the press due to their choice of headwear designed by famous milliner, Philip Treacy. On a day of high fashion the girls left many confused, The Daily Mail described their outfits as "ghastly", and rate them at the "top of the fashion flops".

Another fashion miss, was Victoria Beckham's decision to wear all back, as though she is attending a funeral, with a black baggy dress that covered up her baby bump and the rest of her body. This was completed with a black facsinator, and black clutch bag.
